Chanel's Little Black Jacket

Quite a while back I went to the Saatchi Gallery to see The Little Black Jacket exhibition. I went in order to research for a uni photography project. Obviously you can never EVER go wrong with Chanel so thoroughly enjoyed looking at all the images. I loved the concept of showing the different ways you can interpret and wear a jacket which is also a nice fresh spin on the 'little black dress'. The many muses varied from actresses, models and singers however the makeup and styling made some of them almost recognisable showing a lot of creativity.

My favourite thing though has to be receiving a large free poster that me and my friend queued for (only for around 15 minutes) for men dressed in suit to inform us "here is a present from Karl".... "Er wow, Ok tell him I say Cheers!"...What a thoughtful guy, just another thing to add to the list of reasons why we love Lagerfeld.

We got to choose from 3 images, my chosen one is now framed and hanging up in my room ( see christmas post). Here are a few of my favourite photos including Alexa Chung, Elle Fanning and Leigh Lezark....

Lush- Mint Julips Lip Scrub

I bought the original lush lip scrub a few years ago and used it now and again, I then re discovered the pot but by that time it had gone all hard and unusable. Apparently you can add olive oil to soften it but then it would taste a bit icky. So I chose to buy a new one, and opted for the Mint Julips scrub that I got from the Lush store on Kings Road London for £5.25.

The Lush lip scrub is basically an exfoliater  for your lips. It is brilliant for people who suffer from dry cracked lips. I pat the mixture onto my lips then just smack and rub then together till its all gone. AS it contains caster sugar and is mint chocolate chip flavour it tastes amazing and the mint makes your breath smell all fresh and lovely. Lush lip scrubs are perfect to prep them for lipstick. After applying the  scrub I apply my Body Shop vitamin E lip balm and then a lipstick.

Lush also does different lip scrub flavours they do a Bubblegum flavour and a Sweetlips one. I now use   Mint Julips lip scrub as part of my daily routine so I will be repurchasing it for sure.

Mary Quant Make-Up

I have always loved the 60s its my favourite decade by far especially the make-up an the hair. So when I popped into the Mary Quant store on Kings Road I fell in love with all the beautiful make-up products they had. Plus it all came in the cute monochrome flower packaging.

I was so tempted to buy lots of their eyeshadow pallets and blushers and even there skin products, but I didn't know much about them and didn't want to impulse buy too much. Especially when the items were around £12 or £16.

But I did pick up this cute eye pencil sharpener and an eye brow brush. They are around the £2.50 mark I think. I then bought this action lashings lengthening mascara. The brush is in a style I've never tried before but is perfect for doing my lower lashes. I love how slim the brush is, it really separates my lashes as well an lengthening them so it makes it look very natural. It widens my eyes and doesn't clump at all I am very pleased with the effect it has.

I also bought two pairs of knee high socks in the sale for £3.50, I just thought they were really sweet. I especially love the grey heart print and eye lashes detail and the other more monochrome flower style.

Also I have now finished my internship at Reveal, I may do a little post on how it all went? Plus they gave a large gift of beauty and hair goodies to say thanks and I can not to wait to try it all out and review them on here :)

Sales Shopping In Knightsbridge

I wanted to only purchase one or two nice items in the sales, and not in a frantic haze end up with silly numerous items of garments that I don't need and aren't even that nice. So I headed to Harvey Nichols, Harrods and The Kings Road. Even though I had under £100 to spend which won't go a long way in such expensive shops, I was still determined to come back with something. However there were many disappointments along the way. I went to Harrods on the first day of it's sale. I was expecting it to be busy, but I was not prepared for queue's that went all round the building and even inside. I could barley move. I love shopping and see it as something enjoyable to do, and this was not my idea of fun. I decided that it was not worth the hassle so left the store. Taking at least half an hour to get my way through the crowds and avoiding being elbowed in the face. If I had more money to spend I would of stayed as with more money I would of been able to purchase something incredible. But with my budget I could only stretch to the posh make-up counter.

I had more luck at the stress free sale at Harvey Nicks, I had to take back a Christmas present that my brother bought me. A lovely set of black and gold See by Chloe bangles but that were unfortunately too big. Luckily I exchanged them for a See by Chloe purse. I also fell in love with a pair of  hot pink shorts by Phillip Lim 2:1. The sale price which was scribbled on the tag in biro, made the price slightly in clear however I read it as £59 so rushed to the catch out to buy them for it to discovered that the five was actually an eight and therefore out of my price range. I was seriously gutted. To cheer myself up I got the beautiful fashion fairy tale book by Christian Lacroix which was half price in Waterstones on the Kings Road for £7.99.
