Limewood New Forest

It was my Mums birthday this weekend, and to celebrate we went for lunch at the Limewood hotel in the New Forest. It was a beautiful setting and I was pretty excited when I found out it was where Sophie Dahl and Jamie Cullen got married.

Lunch was lovely and I loved wandering around the hotel looking at the library and they had a gorgeous spa. I really like the whole luxury country vibe and found it funny seeing all the city slickers trying to get in the spirit with tweed, Barbour quilted jackets and spotless Hunter wellies. The spa also had a very sweet shop which made me very tempted to buy Essie nail polishes, Voya beauty products and Davina Combe jewellery.

Here are a few photos I took that day....

Mac Lipstick Snob

I am in two minds about this colour of lipstick but thought I would do a little post on it anyway. I bought Mac Snob on a bit of a whim. I wanted a nice pale lipstick as I don't like wearing dark lipstick if I'm wearing quite a lot of eye make-up.

Snob I would say is a pale pink with a bit of lilic tones in it. As usual Snob keeps up the amazing standard of Mac lipstick it is long lasting and doesn't dry out my lips at all. However I would pick it up as nice pale neutral colour. It is still quite a bold colour but is a very pretty one.

Pretty Things....

Being a student means having to deal with resisting the urge to spend which is not easy, trust me. However it does mean I end up getting excited about the cheaper and simpler things in life. Like ooh wow look how pretty those fairy lights are and making some mango smoothies. I also decorated my pin board with bunting and photos and bought the Jean Paul Gaultier Diet Coke cans, I mean its like owning something designer....right?

So I just thought I would share some of the pictures I took recently.

Mac- Odd Couple Eyeshadow

I absolutely love Mac eyeshadows, and the shade Odd Couple is no exception. I bought it from Bicester Village at the Make-up Company outlet for under ten pounds! I really like the two shades, they look lovely on their own and together.

My favourite is the metallic shade which is a mixture taupe, bronze, gold and lilic. The purple is also nice and striking, and has a very slight shimmer to it.

My favourite thing about Macs Odd Couple is the texture and how it lasts for a long time. The colours aren't as intense as I thought it would be but still applies well.

NYX- Nude On Nude Palette

I bought this NYX, nude on nude palette from Tk.Maxx for £14.99. I don't really know peoples thoughts on purchasing make-up from Tk.Maxx but now and again I cant resist the Stilla, Calvin Klein and Urban Decay products they have there. This is my first ever NYX product but I had heard lots of good things about the brand so gave it go.

The nude on nude palette contains 20 eyeshadows, 10 lip colours and 2 mini brushes. I absolutely adore the eye shadow shades, they show up well and last a long time. They have nice mixture of metallic shades, light dusty cream coloured ones and dark greys browns and greens. Which would mean it would be great for light day looks and a night time classic smokey eye.

The lip colours also have a nice variation from berry, orange, red and nude. My favourite is the selection of pink shades from coral to a shimmery pink. However the quality of the lip colours aren't that great they do dry out my lips and I need to use a lot of product for any colour to actually show up.

But overall I like the NYX nude on nude palette it has a large selection in nice compact easy to travel box.

Home Comforts And University

So it's that time of year again when most of us are back at uni. Moving away from home means having your own little space to decorate and make you feel at home.

Even though I am going in to my second year I am still living at a halls of residence. Which means another year of putting up with most ugliest curtains you have ever seen! However I have picked up a few little things to add to my room to make it morse cute and cosy (and distract from the curtains).

My main cosy essentials are a lovely smelling candle. I have chosen Yankee Candles Vanilla Cupcake flavour, I have a very weak sense of smell so love strong sweet scents such as this one. I also love the hearts shaped clock that I picked up from Next. For uni and well any sort of studying it is very important to be organised, I got this pretty notepad from a local gift shop and the cute duck shaped paper clips from Paper Chase to keep everything secure. Lastly childish or old lady like as it is, a fluffy big blanket and a magazines are an essential for me!
